You Become What You Believe

Hey, hey, hey! How many times do you start a new year with the best of intentions to be better and end up derailing a few weeks into January? You aren’t alone. For years, I’ve spent the last days of December creating a vision board for the year to come and in keeping my dreams and goals out in the open to see every day, I have found that I am so much more intentional about working toward slaying them! Want me to help you find your 2019 vision? Holla at your girl!

This year, my soul sister gifted me a book called The Desire Map by Danielle LaPort. Holy smokes! This book took me places and showed me parts of myself that I didn’t even know about! Take a second and think about your life and where you stand. Are you happy? Are you fulfilled? Are there areas of your life that you feel weak? Sad? Defeated? Now, what if there was a way to channel those weaknesses an turn them into your strengths? Boom.

The Desire Map breaks your life down into 5 areas: Livelihood&Lifestyle, Body&Wellness, Creativity&Learning, Relationships&Society and Essence&Spirituality. Within these areas, you will be guided through meditation to really analyze these areas, identify your feelings and give a name to what is not working for you. In doing so, you’ll start the path to developing your core desired feelings.

What I love the most is that this workbook brought me so much joy. Instead of worrying about accomplishing this big, heavy goal I focused heavily on the feeling that accomplishment would bring and created many small opportunities for myself to embrace that desired feeling on the regular. In doing that, you are more likely to stay on your path to the long term goals. Make sense?
